Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Mekkit (the apps, the web studio and published apps). The parent who creates the account accepts these terms for themselves and their children. Version: 2026-09-22.

Who we are

Accounts

  • Accounts may only be created by parents aged 18+ (or, for teacher accounts, by educators).
  • The parent is responsible for the child profiles under their account and should not share the parent PIN with children.
  • Keep your sign-in details secret and tell us if you notice unauthorised use.

What children make

Projects your child makes belong to them (and to you as their parent). By publishing, you give us a licence to host and show the project at the chosen visibility and — only in the gallery — to let others remix it. Remixes credit the original.

Ready-made art and sounds in the library are CC0 licensed. AI-generated assets may be used in projects.

Rules

  • Sharing personal information (real names, addresses, schools, phone numbers, emails, social handles) is not allowed.
  • Violent, sexual, hateful, bullying or demeaning content is not allowed.
  • Passing off others' work as your own, abusing the service or trying to get around safety measures is not allowed.
  • We may remove publications that break the rules and suspend accounts where necessary; we review every report made with the report button.

AI

AI output (drawings, sounds, text, suggestions) is generated automatically and can be wrong. It passes child-safety filters; if you still see something inappropriate, please report it. The AI does not write a project's logic for the child; suggestions are ghost blocks the child places themselves.

Mekkit Plus and payments

  • Mekkit Plus is sold through the App Store or Google Play as a weekly ($5.99, 3-day free trial) or yearly ($59.99, 7-day free trial) subscription; prices may vary by country.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the period. Cancellation and refunds follow the store's rules.
  • The family subscription covers all child profiles on the account (up to 4). School licences are offered under a separate agreement.
  • Free plan limits are shown in the app and on the pricing page; fair-use limits exist to prevent abuse.

The service

We may improve, change or remove features. The service is provided as is; to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect damages. Your statutory consumer rights are not affected.

Ending

You can delete your account at any time from the parent area. We may close accounts for serious breaches of these terms.

Governing law

The law of the operator's country applies, without affecting your local consumer protection rules. If there is a dispute, please write to us first — we solve most issues quickly.
